FAQ DISC JOCKEY SERVICES

 

Question: How do we select the first songs for our wedding reception?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: The first songs of your reception are entirely up to you. You can chose the songs and when you would like the bridal party or parents to join in and even if you have live accompaniment. Many couples chose to have a special song for the bride to dance with her father or the groom to dance with his mother, often both will dance to the same song at the same time. We have a few suggestions for you: Often the first song the Bride and Groom will dance the entire song alone, in this case you can feel free to choose anything you would like to dance to together. The second song of the evening often the bridal party or the parents join in as couples with the bride and groom and for this song we suggest that a song that is easier to dance to, the bridal party may be made up of people who are not with their significant other for this song so go with a nice slow song that may have meaning to you. For the special songs that you will be dancing with your parents there are many commonly used songs here, again you can chose any song that they would also be comfortable dancing to. Many couples chose a song that all guests will be invited to join them on the dance floor, for this song we suggest something for mainstream or popular so that more of your guests will be inclined to join in.


Question: Where do you provide DJ (Disc Jockey) services?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: We will provide our services anywhere in Alberta and even in Saskatchewan or BC. We are happy to travel to your function. Whether you're looking for a Calgary DJ or a Red Deer DJ or any other Alberta community we are always happy to travel for our clients. As an Alberta Wedding DJ many families have contracted us for many of their families functions. We even perform in unique locations like hockey rinks, football fields and even inside an oil refinery! No place or audience is too big or too small.

Question: What is a Mobile Disc Jockey?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: A Mobile DJ (Disc Jockey) is one who is not performing at a particular venue on a regular basis. If you are looking for a DJ in Edmonton, Red Deer DJ or any Alberta location, as a mobile DJ service we will travel to your location. Most Wedding DJs are Mobile DJs.

Question: Do your DJs have experience?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: CITY PRO ENTERTAINMENT has been in operation since 1999 as a Corporation and before that as The Great West Sound Company starting in 1984, and as such, has vast experience entertaining groups both large and small. Having attended at well over 5,000 functions throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta, NW Territories, Manitoba and British Columbia we are very confident that we will be able to continue to provide our high level of service at your function and for MANY years to come.

Question: What kind of music will you play?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: In keeping with the goals of the hosts of the party and requests that we receive throughout the evening, our vast music collection spans seven decades and includes Big Band, Rock, Country/Western, Jazz, Classical, Dance, Club, Swing, 50's & 60's, Hip Hop, Ballroom, Top 40, Disco, Waltz & Polkas, Alternative, Christmas, Pop, Urban, R & B and Reggae. We even carry a comprehensive collection of Ethnic music (Scottish, Irish, Serbian, Croatian, Russian, Hindi, Indian, Arabic, Italian and so much more¦) to satisfy almost any group.

Question: Will you play the requests of our guests?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: At ALL Functions where DJ services are provided request sheets are placed on all the tables and requests are always welcome. We try to fit in as many requests as we can in the alloted time. During a 4 hour dance your dj will play an average of about 60 songs. We try to fit songs in where they would make a smooth insertion into our program.

Question: Do you provide written documentation for events?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: All clients are provided with a written contract with full function details and exact pricing, including event times, locations, services to be performed and the cost of all services. Any additional costs to services are done so only with the approval of our clients.

Question: What about certain music we do not want played at our function?

Joe & Kevin's Answer:Part of planning any function at CITY PRO ENTERTAINMENT is to find out such music requests. We understand that there are situations where certain songs or types of music may not be appropriate to your function and we would accommodate those requests. Our event planner (available for all events) provides written communication of our client's wishes for all aspects of their event from load-in times to strict intructions like DO NOT PLAY lists.


Question: Will you have the required songs for our event?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: We will ensure to have all required songs for your function. It's guaranteed. City Pro Entertainment also now uses Mobile Internet Sticks in concert with our DJ Music Pool memberships to ensure any last minute requests can be accommodated.


Question: Will you help us plan our function?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: We provide help with planning any function at which you may require our DJ services. If you require a mobile Disc Jockey for your company function or back yard party we will assist you with information and suggestions to enable you to achieve your goals. When looking for Wedding Disc Jockeys in Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary or anywhere else around Alberta we will gladly work with you, including a wedding interview to show you the level of service we are able to provide you and to help you in covering all the bases to ensure a successful event with memories that will last a lifetime. We would be happy to meet with you to help you plan your great event.

Question: How will the DJ be dressed?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: Appropriate attire is very important to all functions, at a wedding we will usually attend wearing a suit or tuxedo, company parties we attend wearing a suit. School dances and other parties it would depend on if there is a theme (50s & 60s or beach¦) we would be attired accordingly.

Question : How MUCH does City Pro Cost?

Joe & Kevin's Answer: The only way to determine our cost is to contact us. We have built a stellar reputation for doing every event RIGHT- the first time! We may charge you a little more than other DJ services, but you can rest easy knowing the job will be in the right hands. Our focus is on results and doing whatever it takes to get the results you want. We don't cut corners because we value the work we're doing for you.
